This position focuses on ensuring accurate scheduling, registration, and financial processing to support a seamless patient experience. Job Summary As a Patient Access Specialist I, you will be responsible for registering patients accurately, verifying insurance and benefits, and managing referrals and pre-authorizations. You will also handle point-of-service collections, operate multi-line phone systems, and provide timely responses to patient inquiries, all while maintaining patient comfort, dignity, and confidentiality. Key Responsibilities Schedule and register patients using healthcare software, ensuring data accuracy including patient identification and insurance verification. Verify referrals and pre-authorizations for services as needed. Conduct registration interviews prior to initial visits. Collect patient financial responsibilities such as co-payments and co-insurances, and manage daily cash drawer operations. Operate multi-line telephone systems to route and respond to calls professionally and promptly. Respond to patient inquiries and complete patient intake with care and confidentiality. Complete daily assignments, general administrative tasks, and process mail accurately. Participate in workflow improvement projects and other duties as assigned. Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree preferred. Healthcare experience is advantageous. Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare revenue cycle is preferred. Licenses and Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is encouraged. Proficiency in insurance verification through various online and telephone systems. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and common office equipment. Team-oriented mindset with collaborative engagement. Work Schedule Full-time, 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday, typically from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, with some variation based on business needs. Operating hours are from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
