Operations Supervisor

Central Transport is a leading Less‑Than‑Truckload carrier with a nationwide network of terminals serving the United States, Canada, and Mexico. We are hiring an Operations Supervisor to manage terminal dock operations, oversee drivers and dock personnel, and ensure efficient loading and safety. Compensation and Schedule Salary: $65,000 – $80,000 plus up to 10% in bonuses. Shift: Tuesday‑Saturday, 1:00 am – 11:00 am. Ideal Candidate Requirements Experience managing a team, preferably in transportation operations. Comprehensive knowledge of the LTL trucking industry. Prior experience in management, dispatch and dock operations. Strong leadership skills: hiring, coaching, counseling, training, mentoring. Commitment to delivering excellent customer service. High technological aptitude. Ability to multi‑task while being detail‑oriented. Excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills. Willingness to work an average of 50 hours per week. Flexibility to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and in all weather conditions. Capacity to work under tight time constraints in a high‑pressure environment. Associate or Bachelor’s Degree (preferred but not required). Duties Oversee inbound operations for a designated section of the terminal dock. Manage unloading, forklift traffic, and proper picking/sortation of palletized freight. Supervise up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to meet production schedules. Build loads based on available labor and freight levels using independent judgment. Ensure proper loading of carriers by monitoring trailer cube and weight. Provide leadership and accountability to drivers, dock workers, and dock hands. Monitor dock production to meet or exceed Key Performance Indicator goals. Track hours and overtime. Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards. Ensure company operational model compliance.
