The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Operations Research Analyst performing professional and scientific work requiring systematic, critical, intensive investigation into a subject in order to develop the principles, criteria, methods, and data to be used in support of projects or problem solving studies. - Applies a range of analytical, mathematical, and/or statistical theories, principles, and practices to plan, coordinate, and execute segments of complex studies.
- Compiles, organizes, and analyzes data/information to find solutions to problems requiring the use of a broad range of established operations research methods and techniques.
- Participates in special initiatives, studies, and projects. Performs special research tasks designed to utilize and enhance knowledge of work processes and techniques.
- Attends meetings, conferences, briefings, and seminars related to program planning. Prepares and presents briefings on the study's progress and results.
- Keeps abreast of emerging technologies and professional development to remain current in the field and for application to work assignments
- Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.

- Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays

- This is an acquisition coded position. Selectee must complete required certification level 1 in Engineering and Technical Management within 24 months of assignment.
