Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a neuro ICU position requiring KY or compact RN licensure and recent neuro ICU experience.

Details

• Work in a 19-bed neuro ICU serving CVA, neurosurgical, carotid surgery, and carotid stent patients
• Unit supports the comprehensive stroke program and also cares for surgical post-op, cardiac intervention, sepsis, general surgery, and complex ICU patients
• 3rd shift schedule, 3x12s, 7p-7a
• Weekends and holidays required as needed
• 0.9 FTE, 36 hours per week

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• Recent neuro ICU experience required, preferably including post-interventional stroke patients (thrombectomy, coiling)
• General or mixed ICU experience in addition to neuro required
• EVD/ventriculostomy and lumbar drain experience strongly preferred
• ICP monitoring experience strongly preferred, ideally with Integra or Camino systems
• Comfort managing multiple titratable vasoactive drips strongly preferred
• 1:1 CRRT and/or Arctic Sun/TTM experience strongly preferred
• Prior travel assignment success in high-acuity ICUs strongly preferred
• Last 4 of SSN and DOB (MM/DD) required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing assessments, care planning, and treatment implementation for critically ill neuro ICU patients
• Deliver patient and family-centered education and support discharge planning in coordination with Case Management
• Delegate and oversee patient care tasks performed by other team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measures
• Candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility, or may be accepted at a lower local rate
