Human Resources Business Partner

The Human Resources Business Partner will provide strategic and day-to-day HR guidance to leaders and employees across multiple departments. This position will act as a key resource on employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, talent initiatives, and employment compliance. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, building strong partnerships, and using HR expertise to support organizational priorities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Partner with department leaders to develop and implement people strategies that support organizational priorities
• Advise managers on employee relations concerns, performance issues, staffing needs, and workforce planning
• Provide HR guidance related to compensation, benefits, professional development, engagement, and retention initiatives
• Help ensure HR practices remain aligned with applicable employment regulations and established organizational policies
• Review HR reporting and workforce metrics to identify trends, support business decisions, and improve HR processes
• Serve as a trusted resource to managers and employees by providing practical and timely HR guidance
• Collaborate with HR colleagues on projects and initiatives designed to strengthen the employee experience

Qualifications include:

• 8–10+ years of progressive human resources experience, including a minimum of 3 years working in an HR Business Partner capacity
• Experience providing HR support to an employee population of 300+ individuals
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and consultative skills with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at varying levels
• Experience working with HR information systems and Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with Workday is preferred
• Bachelor's degree required
• SHRM certification is a plus
• Strong understanding of employee relations, performance management, HR compliance, and talent management practices
• Ability to handle sensitive employee matters with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment

This is a hybrid contract opportunity based in Washington, DC, with an anticipated duration of approximately four months. The position follows a Monday through Friday schedule during standard business hours.
