Registered Nurse RN Outpatient Infusion Float

Banner Gateway MD Anderson Cancer Center offers advanced infusion care in a modern unit with reclining chairs, individual televisions, and a healing garden view. Position Summary Float RN – work rotated across the Infusion Clinic, Clinical Laboratory, and OTC Clinic, providing comprehensive nursing care to patients. Schedule Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–6:30 PM (four ten‑hour shifts per week). Holiday and weekend rotation required.

CORE FUNCTIONS

Assess patient’s physical, psychological, social, spiritual, and cultural needs; review history, labs, and other team data; report abnormal results. Formulate and initiate individualized plan of care, including discharge planning, goals, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. Implement the plan through direct care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of staff; communicate status accurately to all caregivers. Evaluate patient progress and teaching effectiveness; revise plan of care as needed. Document assessment, plan, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record, ensuring legibility, timeliness, and accuracy. Apply best evidence; participate in research, shared leadership, and education of staff, patients, and visitors; mentor when appropriate. Contribute to patient outcomes and participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional organizations. Supervise staff workflow where applicable. Interact with all staff levels, external contacts, clergy for spiritual support, and synthesize data to support patient and family response.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Current valid RN license in the state of practice (or temporary/interim/compact). BLS certification. One year of acute‑care RN experience within the past 12 months. Maintenance of clinical performance competencies through annual validations. For Home Health roles: valid driver’s license and active auto insurance. For behavioral health positions: Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and Criminal History Affidavit as required for the location.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
