Plant Maintenance Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION The General Maintenance position is an entry-level role and is responsible for assisting with general tasks around the worksite. This role requires minimum prior experience and serves as an introduction to the industry. Under supervision, the helper may assist with minor preventative maintenance tasks and learn basic job functions. The primary objective of this position is to assess the employee’s potential for long-term development within the company. Job Summary The General Maintenance position is an entry-level role and is responsible for assisting with general tasks around the worksite. Under supervision, the helper may assist with minor preventative maintenance tasks and learn basic job functions. The primary objective of this position is to assess the employee’s potential for long-term development within the company. Essential Functions Conduct pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections, lubricate moving parts, and complete scheduled preventative maintenance tasks to prevent component failures. Troubleshoot and replace basic mechanical components, including conveyor belts, idlers, pulleys, and water pumps. Strictly adhere to OSHA regulations, execute Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols, and maintain a hazard-free work area. Observe aggregate feeders and screening areas during operation to identify anomalies by sight or sound and perform minor adjustments. Record and maintain service logs, lubrication reports, and maintenance records for plant equipment. Maintain standard housekeeping and washing of site. Operate various plant equipment as needed. Technical Expertise -Solid mechanical understanding of mobile equipment, including basic maintenance checks and troubleshooting minor issues. Ability to identify signs of equipment malfunction, understand and report them to the maintenance team. Education High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Experience Experience in maintenance, preferably within the around heavy equipment and machines. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Basic understanding of workplace safety and the ability to follow safety procedures General awareness of tools and equipment used on-site Willingness to learn mechanical and maintenance fundamentals Exposure to preventative maintenance processes under supervision Other Requirements Entry level mechanic, qualified to perform general utility work and light maintenance under supervision of experienced mechanic. Knowledge of using a wide variety of hand and power tools. Knowledge of lock out/ tag out protocols. Knowledge of lock out/ tag out protocols. Safety and compliance with MSHA/OSHA procedures and requirements. A valid driver's license. Must be able to work required overtime, which may include up to or more than 12 hours per day and up to 7 days per week.
