Senior Systems Administrator

Systems Administrator IVServes as a Systems Administrator on a major IT support contract for the Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC) at the Aberdeen Test Center (ATC). Responsibilities include:Performing Windows Server systems administration including troubleshooting, monitoring, and support;Windows event and performance monitoring; and management of hosted systems software platforms.Resolving basic and intermediate issues associated with system configuration management, resource sharing and basic networking troubleshooting and problem identification.Resolving security issues including identity management, records retention, and implements destruction policies.Using and writing operating system commands and scripts, managing disk configurations, maintaining hardware and software RAID 1-N, performing migration, backup and recovery using scripting languages, such as Bash, PowerShell, Python, Ruby, and/or Perl.May support performance tuning, capacity planning and bottleneck resolution, administration of Microsoft Servers, building and maintaining high-availability, clustered and scalable systems, and load balancing.Managing production environments using automated install, automated build and deployment, automated configuration management, enterprise monitoring systems, server virtualization, load balancing, web servers, and application servers.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree and 10 years' experience; experience which may include education/specialized training/certifications may be substituted for education.Experience in VMWare systems administration including troubleshooting and monitoringExperience in resolving complex issues associated with configuration management. resource sharing and basic networking troubleshooting and problem identification.Experience in resolving security issues, identity management, records retention, and adhering to destruction policiesExperience using and writing operating system commands and scripts, and scripting languages, including one or more of Bash, Powershell, Python, Ruby, and/or Perl.Experience with performance tuning, capacity planning and bottleneck resolution, administration of Microsoft Servers, building and maintaining high-availability, clustered and scalable systems, advanced web technologies such as ASP.NET, pipeline, load balancing, etc.; managing production environments using automated install, automated build and deployment, automated configuration management, enterprise monitoring systems, server virtualization, load balancing, web servers, and application serversExperience managing or working with Windows Server and Linux Operating systems and associated configuration tools is desirable.Experience and/or working knowledge of Kubernetes is highly desirable.Relevant education or certification must be in an IT discipline related to the assigned program area (e.g Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer or Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, Computer Forensics/Security, etc.).Must possess current Security+ (or equivalent DOD Directive 8570.1 IAT II)Salary: $90,000 - $140,000 per year Benefits include:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programEmployee discountFlexible scheduleFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offParental leaveProfessional development assistanceReferral programTuition reimbursementVision insuranceWork Location: In person
