Our network is intentionally curated to ensure quality, discretion, and strong alignment between families and caregivers. Nannies introduced through Matron of Familyhood are employed directly by the hiring family as W-2 household employees. These standards help promote long-term stability, mutual respect, and sustainable working relationships for both families and caregivers.  Our Screening & Placement ProcessWe use a structured, multi-step screening process designed to support thoughtful, long-term placements. The process may include: Application review Introductory phone conversation Structured interview Professional reference checks Background screening conducted with candidate consent and in accordance with applicable lawDiscussion of schedule, responsibilities, and role scope Interviews directly with families, held virtually or in the family's home, depending on family preference Our screening process is designed to ensure clarity, professionalism, and mutual alignment throughout the placement process. They understand that stability and clarity support both strong family relationships and sustainable careers.  Required Qualifications At least 3 years of paid, professional in-home childcare experience (extended babysitting or sibling care alone does not qualify) Demonstrated experience caring for infants and toddlers Strong, verifiable references from prior families or agencies Current Pediatric and Adult CPR/AED and First Aid certification through a nationally recognized provider (such as the American Red Cross or American Heart Association). Certification must include an in-person skills assessment; fully online certifications are not accepted.  Work AuthorizationCandidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Employment eligibility verification is completed by the hiring family in accordance with federal law.  Preferred QualificationsWhile not required, the following experience is highly valued: Five or more years of professional nanny experience  Experience in high-demand or executive households Background in early childhood education or child developmentComfort managing structured routines and developmental planningExperience navigating newborn-to-toddler transitions Familiarity with tracking sleep, feeding, and developmental milestonesExperience working alongside other household staff Interest in ongoing professional development  Employment StructureNannies are employed directly by the hiring family as W-2 household employees. The family is responsible for payroll, tax withholding, workers' compensation (if applicable), employment agreements, supervision, and benefits. Compensation, guaranteed hours, and other employment terms are negotiated directly between the nanny and the family. Matron of Familyhood coordinates introductions but does not supervise, employ, or manage nannies after placement.  Trial PeriodMany families choose to begin with a mutually agreed trial period to ensure the relationship feels aligned on both sides. Any trial terms are negotiated directly between the nanny and the family. We remain available to support communication if requested, but we do not oversee performance.  Ongoing SupportAlthough we are not the employer, we remain available to help facilitate communication if questions arise after placement.
