Senior Paralegal

Qualifications Best Value Solicitation Grading: Prior claimant support experience including interfacing with members of the public. Ability to work on-site 5 days a week at the DC office location without issue (need to be located within DMV as a consequence). Day-to-day Responsibilities: Support the preparation, organization, and maintenance of appellate briefs and related filings. Review briefs and appellate filings for formatting compliance, accuracy, and consistency. Perform citation checking, validate citation accuracy, and ensure Bluebook compliance. Conduct legal research on statutes, legal authorities, and relevant precedent. Assist appellate attorneys by identifying relevant authorities and supporting cite-checking requirements. Conduct quality control reviews of work product, legal references, citations, and filing materials. Use LexisNexis and internal brief repositories or brief banks to support research, citation review, and brief preparation. Must have basic legal knowledge, including knowledge of standard legal citation to cite check legal motions and memorandum and must have sufficient experience with legal research tools such using LexisNexis to perform legal research. Required Skills: At least two years of litigation paralegal experience or project experience is required. Strong experience supporting appellate litigation, including brief preparation, filing support, and appellate case workflows. Proficiency with citation checking, citation validation, and Bluebook formatting requirements. Strong legal research skills, including the ability to research statutes, legal authorities, and precedent. Experience using LexisNexis and legal research databases to support attorneys and identify relevant authorities. Excellent attention to detail and quality control skills for reviewing briefs, filings, citations, and legal references. Ability to assist with brief writing support, internal brief repositories, and consistency across appellate work product. Education : Requires paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study, or an equivalent level of legal training or experience; or an equivalent level of education may be substituted. #J-18808-Ljbffr
