About the Position

South Bay Baseball Cards is looking for a full-time Trading Card Store & eCommerce Associate to join our team. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys sports and the trading card hobby and is knowledgeable about sports cards, Pokémon, and other trading card games and collectibles .

This is a hands-on position that combines working with customers in our retail store with managing our online sales channels. The ideal candidate understands the card market, can accurately identify and price cards, is comfortable selling on eBay, and has experience working with Shopify or similar eCommerce platforms.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in-store and provide knowledgeable, friendly customer service
• Identify, research, and accurately price sports cards, Pokémon cards, and other trading cards
• Create and manage eBay listings , including taking photos, writing descriptions, setting pricing, and maintaining inventory
• Research recent sales and market values to ensure cards are priced competitively
• Manage and update the South Bay Baseball Cards website and Shopify store
• Add new products, update pricing, inventory, images, and product descriptions
• Process online orders and help prepare orders for shipment
• Organize, sort, inventory, and merchandise cards and collectibles
• Help maintain clean, organized, and attractive showcases and displays
• Assist with buying, evaluating, and processing collections brought into the store
• Stay current on sports, players, rookies, card releases, Pokémon products, and trends within the hobby
• Help with other day-to-day retail and eCommerce operations as needed

Qualifications

Trading card knowledge is important for this position. The ideal candidate should:

• Have strong knowledge of sports cards and the sports card market
• Have working knowledge of Pokémon cards and other major trading card categories
• Be familiar with card values, parallels, rookies, autographs, memorabilia cards, grading, and major brands
• Be comfortable researching card values using eBay sold listings and other market data
• Have experience listing and selling products on eBay
• Have experience with Shopify or be comfortable learning and managing an eCommerce website
• Be comfortable using a computer, taking product photos, and entering detailed product information
• Have strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Be dependable, punctual, and comfortable working independently
• Enjoy interacting with customers and talking about sports and collectibles
• Be available to work Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Ideal Candidate

This is a great position for someone who is already involved in the trading card hobby and wants to turn that knowledge into a full-time job. We're looking for someone who can confidently talk cards with customers, recognize what makes a card valuable, research unfamiliar items, and help us grow both our retail store and online business .

If you spend your free time following sports, checking card prices, opening packs, attending card shows, buying/selling on eBay, collecting Pokémon, or keeping up with new releases, you could be a great fit for our team.
