However, the larger portion is paid by the Company, and some of the benefits are at no cost to you.Paid Time Off: We offer a generous vacation program that varies based upon your experience and position within Avery Dennison.Job DescriptionAbout the role:As a Shipping Team Manager, you will lead efforts to ensure customer satisfaction while achieving business objectives regarding Safety, Employee Engagement, Quality, Productivity, Process Improvement, and Cost-effectiveness within your assigned shift and department.Key Responsibilities:This position is based on-site at our Greenfield, Indiana facility.Promote safety as the most important value in the organization by actively enforcing all Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) policies/procedures, ensuring participation of team members in required safety training, and leading or participating in the investigation and implementation of corrective action plans for all safety incidents.Provide leadership for the shift by creating a motivating environment for team members to meet and exceed facility goals for safety, service, quality, productivity, cost, and inventory control targets, recognizing and rewarding outstanding performance as needed.Initiate, implement, and support effective operational improvements to promote safety, increase employee engagement, improve quality, minimize scrap, and increase productivity.Ensure execution of standard operating procedures, standard work, quality standards, cycle counts, and safety/housekeeping audits, while engaging in technical problem solving and participating in projects focused on optimizing manufacturing processes and capabilities.Oversee daily activities of team members including coaching, counseling, conducting regular performance reviews, and leading, facilitating, or participating in Enterprise Lean Sigma (ELS) continuous improvement activities and Kaizen events.QualificationsQualifications:High School diploma and a minimum of 3 years of leadership, process improvement, and supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required; Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, support, and develop a diverse team of talent.Knowledge of manufacturing operations systems (best practices), processes, and technology, with a demonstrated ability to achieve operational results through delegation and teamwork.Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and effectively problem-solve issues, implement solutions to prevent recurring problems, and exhibit effective time management, project management, and organizational skills.Effective communication skills (written, verbal, active listening), professional behavior, and familiarization with Enterprise Lean Sigma (ELS) principles and lean sigma tools.Additional InformationEqual Opportunity Employer:Avery Dennison is an equal opportunity employer.
