- # Histotechnician II - PRNApplylocations: Columbia - Boone Hospital Centertime type: Part timeposted on: Posted Yesterdayjob requisition id: R-9448# **Job Description****Additional Job Information*** PRN### ## **Overview****Job Summary:** Responsible for providing a variety of routine and/or complex tests and procedures on tissue and related surgical specimens submitted for histological examination.**Job Responsibilities**:• Understands test principles, theory, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation of all instrumentation in assigned areas.• Tasks to include, but not limited to, microtomy, embedding, staining, reagent preparation. Performs and documents quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoots malfunctioning instrumental as necessary.• Ability to utilize critical thinking skills to perform above tasks and responsibilities. • Trained to complete tissue gross examination as needed.• Must meet the High Complexity qualifications as written in CLIA 42CFR493• Performs Other Responsibilities as Assigned.**Minimum Qualifications**: • Degree: High School Diploma or GED • Experience: None required • Supervisor Experience: None required • Licenses & Certification: ASCP/AMT/ABB or equivalent**Preferred Qualifications:** • Experience: <2 years**Work Shift**PRN (United States of America)**Legal Statement**The above information on this description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees in this position.
