We hope you will consider joining us as an employee owner.Integrated Life Choices (ILC) is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).DSPs at ILC provide support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a variety of settings to ensure they have a meaningful life. As a DSP, you will work with individuals to support them in achieving their hopes and dreams.Vocational DSPs support individuals at work sites during the day.If you are looking for a rewarding career where you can make a positive impact on someone's life, we encourage you to apply.The ideal candidate for this position is someone who is interested in supporting people in achieving their hopes and dreams. As a DSP, you will be responsible for maintaining consistent engagement with the people you are supporting, whether they are at home or out in the community. You will be required to work independently, create safe environments, and provide accurate documentation for the support provided during every shift. Duties may include:Supporting people in understanding and exercising their rightsEncouraging people to live a fulfilling life as independently as possible through self-advocacyProviding the best person-centered supports to meet people’s needs throughout their livesSupporting and encouraging positive interactionsImproving social connections and relationshipsProviding transportation for those you are supportingTeaching skills to improve a person’s lifeSupporting and encouraging participation in groups or organizations in line with a person’s personal interests to meet recreational and social needsUtilizing Positive Support Programs to guide daily interactionsSupporting a person with personal hygiene and medical-related needs, including medication administrationProviding documentation at the end of each shiftDSPs who work at ILC vocational locations support individuals with planned activities that encourage community inclusion, habilitation, and activities of daily living.Benefits available for qualifying positions:401(k) with company matchHealth insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceLife insuranceSupplemental insurance offeringsPaid Time OffEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Working Conditions:This work can be physically demanding in some situations. Some physical work examples could be but are not limited to:Intervening in aggressive situation and/or physically demanding responsibilitiesSupport with lifting individuals to and from wheelchairsSupporting a person to and from a showerUsing a gait belt in a safe and dignified wayProviding transportation for the people we support is an essential function of the DSP position.
