ML Engineer - Watson Orders

We use state-of-the-art Machine Learning and related technologies to deliver a product that will help serve tens of millions of customers per day.Your Role and ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking to hire an ML Engineer to join our growing team! This is a hands-on technical role where you will spend most of your time designing, coding, and implementing ML solutions to intent and understanding problems, along with ongoing evaluation of model performance both in isolation as well as using results from production use cases. We are looking for someone who has expertise designing and implementing ML training pipelines as we improve and scale our conversational AI products, in particular to work in multilingual environments.As our ML Engineer, you will join a team of ML specialists who collaboratively tackle complex algorithmic and architectural challenges. You will:• Investigate and experiment with new model architectures to improve existing ML models, training pipelines, and run-time inference performance• Expand the scope and capabilities of our models to enable multilingual use cases• Creatively balance the demands of production-level software engineering with exploratory research and development• Work with teams to develop and improve ML pipelines that go all the way from R&D to at-scale deploymentRequired Technical and Professional ExpertiseExperience working with large production codebases in any language.Experience using one or more ML libraries such as PyTorch, MxNet, TensorFlow, or similar tools.Hands-on experience with ML model deployment and inference in a production environment.Experience building sequence-to-sequence neural networks (e.g. LSTMs, GRUs, Transformers, etc) in any domain.Demonstrated success working in large distributed teams to solve novel technical challengesPreferred Technical and Professional ExpertiseExperience developing production-level Python.Experience building and deploying bilingual or multilingual applications using ML.Ability to build NLP data pipelines and perform data transformations to fit deep learning models for language learning or understanding.Experience with MLOps and/or ML at scale.Working proficiency or fluency in SpanishAbout Business UnitIBM’s Cloud and Cognitive software business is committed to bringing the power of IBM’s Cloud and Watson/AI technologies to life for our clients and ecosystem partners around the world. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
