Research Engineer
Lynntech
Lynntech is seeking a Research Engineer to develop and evaluate technologies for a variety of aerospace and defense applications. This hands-on R&D role combines computational analysis, experimental testing, rapid prototyping, and hardware/software integration. Candidates with experience in controls, embedded systems, flight mechanics, or related areas are especially encouraged to apply. The position is full-time and on-site in College Station, Texas. General Duties And Responsibilities Developing computational analyses, simulations, and data-processing workflows Assisting in the design and execution of laboratory and field experiments Designing and implementing data-acquisition approaches using imaging, acoustic, RF, and other electronic sensors Analyzing experimental data and translating results into engineering conclusions and recommendations Maintaining a laboratory notebook as a detailed log of experiments, results, and ongoing research efforts Generating formal written reports of research efforts Contributing to proposal development Performing other duties as assigned Required Skills And Education Bachelor's or Master's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, physics, applied mathematics, or a related field Ability to design and carry out experiments with limited supervision Data management and technical reporting skills Ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team Ability to interact with scientists and researchers from other disciplines Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts, results, and recommendations in written reports and presentations Desired Experience Aerodynamics, flight mechanics, and stability analysis State estimation, sensor fusion, and controls Embedded system development using microcontrollers, SBCs, FPGAs, or similar hardware Research, product development, or rapid-prototyping experience through industry, academic research, internships, or substantial project work Programming experience in Python, Rust, C/C++, MATLAB, and/or LabVIEW Linux system administration / configuration Prototype hardware fabrication and testing About Lynntech Lynntech develops innovative technologies and products for defense, aerospace, medical, and energy applications.
