Systems Engineer

Our client is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with 10+ years of experience to support current and next-generation mission planning capabilities for a high-visibility U.S. Navy program in Lexington Park, MD. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex systems engineering efforts, collaborate with military stakeholders, and help shape the future of mission‑critical defense technologies. Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end systems engineering activities from concept development through deployment and sustainment. Serve as the Systems Engineering Lead supporting mission planning capabilities. Collaborate with active‑duty military personnel, engineers, and stakeholders to define requirements and deliver mission solutions. Develop Systems Engineering Plans (SEPs), capability roadmaps, CONOPS, use cases, and system‑level requirements. Manage Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and support Configuration Control Board (CCB) activities. Lead integration, testing, and deployment efforts for mission‑critical systems. Support hardware and software acquisition planning, cost analysis, risk assessments, and program execution. Develop technical documentation, white papers, CDRLs, and executive‑level briefings. Support secure software delivery processes, CI/CD pipeline compliance, and cybersecurity initiatives. Qualifications 10+ years of Systems Engineering experience supporting complex technical programs. Experience with program management, financial analysis, and compliance with MIL‑STD defense regulations. Ability to lead cross‑functional technical teams supporting classified programs. Strong background in risk management, problem resolution, and optimization of mission‑critical systems. Education Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering or a related technical discipline.
