This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until July 13, 2026. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be May 18, 2026, with subsequent cut-off dates every 2 weeks. Work Schedule

Full-time, schedule to be determined by supervisor.

Pay

Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases.

Paid Time Off

50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)

Retirement

Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA.

Insurance

Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement).

Licensure

1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory.

CME

Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification).

Contract

No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting.

Major Duties

Clinical:

  • Evaluation and management of patients both face-to-face and by telehealth.
  • The incumbent will be responsible for evaluation of patients in outpatient mental health clinics. The incumbent may also supervise trainees, including medical students and residents, in all of these settings.
  • Practices safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods. Instructs other personnel assigned to health care team on preventive medicine programs and other appropriate medical activities and functions.

Administrative:

  • Provide oversight and leadership for the clinical functions of staff and trainees associated with their treatment teams, including RNPs and clinical pharmacists.
  • Serve in hospital or service level committees such as Medication Management Committee or Pain Committee.
  • Supports and enhances VAPAHCS philosophy and goals.
  • Responsible for ensuring Research outcome studies are routinely conducted according to VAPAHCS policies and procedures.
