We are looking for an Assistant General Manager to work at our Kansas City office. The ideal candidate will be a hard‑working professional capable of handling logistics, managing the office, and operating under pressure. Duties / Responsibilities Manages daily dispatch and interface of assigned drivers Recruit, interview, train, and coach new drivers and staff Oversee routing, sorting, operations loading, and unloading of freight, customer service, and facilities management Deliver and pick up packages daily Create and update driver notes in Ameriship’s system to ensure data accuracy Drive consistent operational performance with a focus on service and cost Monitor misdeliveries and develop avoidance strategies Manage general office duties including mailing, supplies, and errands Forecast workload for 2–3 days out Lead and manage hourly personnel and contractors Cover staff absences and manage workload capacity Handle disciplinary issues in line with company policies Schedule and direct driver activity to maximize profitability Maintain accurate and consistent data in the system Create and assign work schedules to maintain proper staffing based on freight volumes 1–3 years of experience in material flow, warehouse/logistics, transportation management, or materials handling Interact with logistics team and vendors Knowledge of shipping and receiving Self‑motivated and resourceful Prioritize and multitask Problem‑solving skills Self‑directed and deadline‑oriented Comfortable with technology and computers Education and Experience Management experience: 2–3 years (preferred) Logistics experience: 2–3 years (preferred) If you have a disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act or a similar law, or you require a religious accommodation, and wish to discuss potential accommodations related to applying for employment at our company, please contact View email address on click.appcast.io.
