Shipping Specialist

Location 4152 East Paris Avenue SE, Kentwood, MI 49512, United States Reporting to the Shipping & Receiving Manager, the Shipping Specialist will perform duties related to the shipment of products to suppliers and customers. This position will assist in on-time delivery of product, as well as delivery of product to outsourced suppliers and vendors. Additionally, the Shipping Specialist will interact and communicate with all levels of the supply chain, including vendors, suppliers, internal management, engineers, and technicians. Responsibilities Prepare shipments by reviewing job travelers and inspection paperwork for completeness and accuracy, obtaining supporting documentation from database and reviewing against ERP system, and preparing box for shipment. Process shipment in ERP system by inputting data from the job traveler. Write purchase orders for outside supplier operations and process receipts upon return. Issues sub-components to manufacturing. Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and control standards. Participate in continuous improvement activities as appropriate. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements High‑school diploma or GED equivalent is required. Previous shipping/receiving experience is preferred. Strong computer skills, preferably with experience in an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system is required. Attention to detail and the ability to problem solve is required. The ability to work independently with minimal guidance within a fast, team-based work environment is required. Strong communication skills needed to interact with internal customers, as well as external customers, at all levels within the company is required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
