About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Teamwork approach to patient care Focus on patient safety Description: This is a neuro unit. Ratios are 1:6. Shift is night. 36 or 48 hours accepted. If working 48 hours, overtime will not be billed until after 48 hours. RTO of 7 days maximum is allowed for auto approval. Travelers will need to float. 5-6 weekend shifts are required. Contract staff may be assigned to work during a catastrophic event or disaster. Patient diagnoses focus on general medicine with an emphasis on neuro. Unit systems in use include medication, documentation, and communication software. Charting systems will be discussed during the orientation. Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to start. Must adhere to the call-off policy. Possession of preferred skills and experience in neuro is recommended. Experience or willingness to learn the charge nurse role is preferred. Candidates must have a teamwork approach and meet behavioral expectations in all interactions. Floating within or near the facility is required. Travel pairs are allowed but must be on different units. References may be pending at submission. Modules required may take 2-10 hours but are not billable.
