Description:
ABET Engineering degree required
Plans, designs and oversees the construction of new or expanded facilities. Prepares architectural, engineering, and cost estimates, functional studies, construction plans, specifications, and schedules. Obtains and supervises outside contractors. Recommends architectural and engineering design procedures and standards for the planning and design of facilities. Supervises the detailed design, budgetary costing, standardized construction, and final inspection of facility projects. Conducts construction surveillance to ensure adherence to contractual requirements. Provides engineering consulting services to local and divisional offices.
• Work on a project cell overseeing large construction projects
• Applicant should be able to be in the field and oversee construction activities for conformance with requirements and safety standards
• Applicant should have technical writing experience to write up field conditions as observed

Basic Qualifications
2 Years with Bachelors in Science; 0 Years with Masters- Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

Preferred Qualifications
• Preference for a construction management degree
• Specific job experience on construction projects with a general contractor
• Experience reviewing engineered drawings
