Job Title: House Manager / Family Assistant with Meal Prep Location: Irvine, CA 92618 Employment Type: Part-Time | 20-25 hours per week Schedule: Monday through Friday, hours can be worked within 8:00am and 4:00pm window. One parent runs their own business and primarily works from an office, while the other works from home and travels a couple of times each month. We have house cleaners who handle the deep cleaning, but we're looking for someone who can take ownership of everything in between—the daily resets, laundry, dishes, meal prep, household organization, Amazon packages, and all of the little details that keep a busy household running smoothly. Our goal is to find a true partner who can alleviate the mental load of managing the home so we can spend less time thinking about the to-do list and more time being present with our children and enjoying time together as a family. We're also preparing for a significant kitchen remodel that will temporarily change how our household operates for a couple of months. We're looking for someone who is adaptable, resourceful, and enjoys problem-solving—someone who can help us navigate the transition while keeping the home organized, running efficiently, and supporting our family through the changes. We are looking to bring someone into our home who understands what it means to be a professional in a private household setting — someone who shows up, understands healthy boundaries, sees what needs to be done, and does it without being asked. Key Qualities Highly self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail Proactive and resourceful; anticipates needs and solves problems independently Excellent communicator who is professional, direct, and responsive Exceptional follow-through and commitment to execution Calm, steady, and a resourceful problem solver Able to quickly learn the family's routines, prioritize independently, and adapt as daily needs evolve An eye for both aesthetics and functionality, creating beautifully organized spaces—from a well-stocked, Pinterest-worthy refrigerator to thoughtfully maintained pantries and household systems that support a healthy, efficient lifestyle Values professionalism, healthy boundaries, and supporting a private family with integrity and discretion Experience and confident in the kitchen with basic meal preparation, including chopping vegetables, following recipes, and preparing healthy family meals Key Responsibilities: Household Management & Organization Create and/or Maintain household organization systems Daily resets and prep home for cleaners Light tidying (dishes, surfaces, vacuum high-traffic areas) Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs Post holiday event help Indoor plant care Change and organize batteries, light bulbs, smoke detectors, etc. Oversee routine appliance maintenance, including vacuum upkeep, dishwasher cleaning cycles, and other monthly or quarterly preventative care Family Support & Child Assistance Pick-ups and drop-offs as needed Light supervision or back-up childcare Prep backpacks, clothing, snacks, lunch, water bottles Kid-related errands Deep Cleaning & Special Projects Manage and create the list for home deep cleans: fridge, oven and monitor quality Refresh garage and entryway Clean humidifiers, air purifiers - clean air filters Organizational projects (toys, gear) Inventory & Errands Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies Manage running household supply lists Manage household orders and subscriptions (Amazon/Costco/Target) Returns, gift shopping Mail and package handling Breakdown boxes Meal Planning & Prep Partner with family on weekly meal planning Maintain Skylight meal plan Manage fridge/freezer/pantry inventory Prep ingredients to make weeknight cooking easier: Wash/chop produce Trim and marinate proteins (portion ingredients) Prep recipe components ahead Prepare kid lunches and snacks Make occasional family-friendly items (muffins, breakfast items, healthy snacks, etc.) Assist with simple meals as needed, but primary focus is making family cooking easier and more efficient Kitchen clean-up and maintenance Laundry & Linen Care Wash, fold, and organize laundry Linen rotation Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked with supplies Vendor & Property Oversight Oversee cleaners and contractors Research and coordinate repairs and quotes Manage outdoor spaces (cover/uncover and dust the patio furniture) Administrative & Personal Assistant Support Calendar management (including household schedules) - comfortable with Skylight calendar and willing to learn How to Apply Please submit the following to be considered: A short intro letter telling us a bit about yourself and why this role is a great fit.
