Fire Sprinkler Design Project Manager

This individual will coordinate the design and manage fire sprinkler systems projects for commercial and industrial buildings. They will manage in-house and 3 rd party designers to make sure the final design matches the specifications and the plans. This person will have responsibility for the initial planning of a project including ordering flow tests, compiling technical data, reviewing calculations and plans, analyzing changes, and solving problems. Job Responsibilities Review construction contract documents and coordinate with subcontractors and General Contractor/owner to gather the required information to design the project’s sprinkler system. Through use of analytical thinking and problem solving, determine construction feasibility, and systems possibilities. Review fire sprinkler shop drawings. Attend BIM modeling meetings. Review hydraulic calculations. Order and close permits. Develop positive, lasting relationships with customers to ensure the company is meeting customers’ expectations. Coordinate with other departments within the office to ensure proper handover of job information. Conduct long range project planning and scheduling. Monitor and manage projects to comply with safety, quality, productivity, and profitability requirements. Directly manage design labor force of assigned project to assure maximum productivity. Identify changes in projects that impact cost, schedule, or labor requirements. Continually monitor progress of projects; review reports to ensure compliance with schedule and budgetary guidelines. Oversee work of subcontractors. Job Qualifications Construction Management degree or other applicable degree from a technical school or college. NICET Level I or II preferred. Demonstrated ability with AutoCAD. Proven ability and track record of performing work in a timely manner and meeting deadlines. Three years successful construction industry experience with knowledge of Fire Protection industry. Supervisory experience is a plus. Ability to train and lead other design team members, as necessary. Willing to coordinate and work well with others. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Valid Driver's License.
