Senior Environmental Engineer

The Senior Environmental is responsible for supporting the plant’s environmental program. Lead environmental improvement and waste reduction projects to help meet company sustainability goals.Serves as an environmental resource to field and operations personnel, process engineers, pre-startup safety reviews (PSSRs) and Incident investigations.Supports the guiding principles of Responsible Care to continually improve Garyville’s plant’s safety, health, environmental performance, process safety, security, and efforts to respond to public concerns relating to design, development, manufacture, storage, marketing, distribution, use and ultimate safe disposal of chemical products.Supports and is committed to the Quality Improvement Process. Plans strategies to ensure error-free work by “doing it right the first time” and conveys this attitude in the daily performance of various duties.Supports and incorporates the activities of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) into ongoing work duties through teamwork within and across departments. Supports new product introduction to facility assuring acceptable controls are in place.Position Details: This position is based in Garyville, LAMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering, environmental engineering, environmental science or related field5 years of relevant environmental compliance experience and knowledge in a manufacturing environmentDemonstrated experience applying environmental regulations (ex. RCRA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act) and working with environmental regulatory agencies (ex. EPA, LDEQ)No Immigration Sponsorship Available for this role.Preferred Qualifications:Experience managing LPDES wastewater permits, stormwater permits and large quantity generator (LQG) sitesExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to deal with various levels of employees, management, vendors, and customersStrong organizational skills, with an ability to be flexible in a dynamic work environmentGood working knowledge of SAPAnnual or Hourly Compensation RangeThe pay range for this position is $101,400.00 - $152,100.00.
