Get to Know Your Team:

• The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus, a part of a rich legacy of compassionate care since 1909, now offers 378 licensed beds, a history of innovation, and strong community support.

• Responsible for decontamination, correct assembly and sterile processing of all instruments used in the operating room and ambulatory/specialty clinics.
• Demonstrates an understanding of procedures required for decontamination and terminal sterilization of instrumentation while instituting protective measures.
• Practices all infection control standards regarding proper cleaning and sterilization of all instrumentation.
• Understands and follows defined sterilization practices for all instrumentation to assure proper and approved sterilization.
• Assists in the facilitation of the OR schedule by proper prioritizingof instrument set needs, including ancillary departments.
• Track instrument sets and pouches on the proper sterilizationrecord.

Job Requirements:

• High school or equivalent education.

Preferred Job Requirements

• Completion of a Sterile Processing training program
• Certified Sterile Processing Tech
• Knowledge of instrumentation, sterilization methods, and infection control practices.
