In this role, you'll embed within customer operations to identify inefficiencies and design AI-driven solutions that improve performance, visibility, and decision-making in real time.This is a highly visible, customer-facing role that blends engineering, operations, and strategy — ideal for someone who enjoys solving real-world problems and seeing their work deployed in live environments.Please note this role will sit on site at our Southfield, MI location.What your day-to-day will look like:Partner with customer stakeholders on-site to understand operational challenges and identify opportunities for AI-driven solutionsDesign, build, and deploy machine learning models to improve forecasting, routing, and supply chain performanceDevelop automation tools to reduce manual workflows and increase operational efficiencyTranslate complex data into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiencesIntegrate AI solutions into existing systems such as TMS, WMS, and ERP platforms using APIs and modern cloud toolsMonitor performance of deployed solutions and continuously iterate to drive measurable improvementsAct as a bridge between RXO's technology, product, and operations teams to deliver scalable solutionsNavigate high-stakes environments where system uptime impacts production linesDrive adoption at the floor level and navigate ambiguity with confidenceIdentify inefficiencies and independently prototype solutionsAt a minimum, you'll need:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field3+ years of experience in data science, AI/ML, or advanced analyticsStrong command of statistics and optimization techniques to drive operational improvementAdvanced proficiency in Python, SQL, PowerBI/Tableau, and CPLEX, with hands-on experience in ML, Agentic AI, and GenAI platforms and frameworks (GCP tech stack preferred)Proven track record of deploying predictive AI models and optimization algorithms to solve business problemsExperience designing and implementing automated workflows and AI-driven solutions to optimize business processesProficiency in TMS (Oracle OTM preferred), WMS/YMS, and ERP workflows, with experience integrating modern AI via APIs into legacy systemsAbility to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholdersBe independent, own your work and think, act and build fastIt'd be great if you also have:5+ years of relevant experienceAdvanced degree (MS or PhD) in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Operations Research, or a related quantitative fieldExperience in supply chain, logistics, or transportation operationsBackground in a customer-facing or consulting roleProven track record of delivering AI-driven solutions that drive measurable business impactProven track record of monetizing analytical insights by transitioning AI solutions from R&D to product design and deliveryMeasurable financial impact on operational performance through stakeholder engagement and independent executionDoes this sound like you?
