Piping Engineer

Early Career Piping Engineer As a Piping Engineer in Amentum’s Nuclear Projects team, you will work with mid and senior level Engineers to design systems for Piping, HVAC and Plumbing. Responsibilities Material Specifications Construction Specifications Hydraulic Calculations Air Flow Calculations Utility Equipment sizing calculations Stress Analysis calculations Mechanical Equipment Schedules Plumbing fixture specifications Review and Validation for International Building Code (IBC) Requirements Material Handling mechanical specifications for conveyors, hoists, cranes, lifts, dolly’s, etc. General oversight of the system design for compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and specific customer requirements. Field Inspections and walkdowns of existing mechanical systems Requirements Mechanical Engineering BS Degree from an accredited university General understanding of Building Mechanical Systems: HVAC/Piping/Plumbing Preferred Qualifications Intern or related working experience preferred Effective communication skills Exhibit integrity and the highest quality in all activities Initiative-taking, team-focused professional Initiative-taker with the ability to learn new calculation and analysis software Attention to detail Essential Functions & Work Environment Primarily office-based (95%). Telework is not an option. Exposure to high noise levels, hazardous propellants, explosives, chemicals, and industrial facilities. Standard office equipment includes PC, telephone, fax, copier, and SmartPlant design software. Attendance mandatory with regular attendance (100%), overtime and work outside normal schedule required as needed, and travel required ( Physical Requirements Appropriate PPE and training will be provided for all conditions. Must be able to move and sit for extended periods (100%). Lift up to 35 lbs (25%). Vision correctable to 20/20. Must have ability to read and use SmartPlant design software unassisted.
