General Laborer

Northwest Hardwoods is seeking dependable, safety-focused General Laborers to support production operations at our Longview, WA facility. This position performs hands-on work throughout the mill, including handling lumber, maintaining product flow, cleaning work areas, operating equipment as trained, and cross-training in other production roles.

Key responsibilities include:

• Working safely and following all NWH safety policies, procedures, and work rules
• Handling, sorting, stacking, and moving lumber by dimension, species, and grade
• Supporting safe and efficient product flow throughout the production process
• Using hand tools, wheelbarrows, and other equipment to clean sawmill debris and maintain work areas
• Operating mobile equipment as trained and authorized
• Maintaining awareness of surroundings and making quick, safe decisions in a fast-paced production environment
• Cross-training in other production positions as needed
• Maintaining good housekeeping and supporting a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Working cooperatively with team members, supervisors, and other departments

Qualifications include:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Strong commitment to safety
• Dependable with excellent attendance
• Positive attitude and ability to work well in a team environment
• Ability to work at a fast pace while maintaining attention to detail
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding work throughout the shift
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and work in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment at all times
• Willingness to learn, cross-train, and work in different areas of the facility
• Pre-employment drug screen and background check required
