Supervisory General Engineer.

Responsibilities Serves as the Branch Chief for the Engineering Branch in the Facility Sustainment Directorate, covering a specific military service (Air Force, Army, Navy, USMC, Space Force, or Coast Guard) or the Engineering Technical Branch. Acts as the project and construction manager responsible for accomplishing assigned major Sustainment, Restoration, and Modernization (SRM) and construction projects within the Area of Responsibility (AOR). Supervises Branch personnel as first‑level supervisor. Oversees a wide variety of support services unique to DLA Energy, which involves travel to provide support to assigned Defense Fuel Support Points (DFSPs). Provides and advocates appropriate recognition and feedback for employee performance and contribution, using the full range of honorary and monetary awards. Conditions of Employment Must be a U.S. citizen. Tour of Duty: Full‑Time, Set Schedule. Security Requirements: Non‑Critical Sensitive with Secret Access. Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination; unfavorable background checks are grounds for removal. Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA): Exempt. Selective Service Requirement: Males born after 12‑31‑59 must be registered or exempt. Recruitment Incentives: Not Authorized. Supervisory Probation: Required. Completion of Supervisory Certification Program: Required. Qualifications Educational Requirements: A bachelor’s degree or higher in professional engineering from an ABET‑accredited program, or an equivalent degree coupled with at least one year of professional engineering experience under qualified supervision. Professional Registration or Licensure: Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE). Written Test: Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination or equivalent written test required for professional registration. Specified Academic Courses: Completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences, including statics, dynamics, strength of materials, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, electrical fields and circuits, and at least one additional comparable area. Related Curriculum: A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate scientific field (e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics) combined with at least one year of relevant professional engineering experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience directly related to the position, at a level equivalent to GS‑13 or higher. Experience should demonstrate the ability to assign and review work of subordinates, oversee fuel system engineering and construction validation, and conduct inspections, assessments, and audits of petroleum storage and handling facilities.
