Lead Medical Assistant

Provide administrative support to Physicians, Physician Assistants, and Medical Assistants/LPNs through supervision and staff development Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere that enhances patient service and care Lead by example and maintain office presence and professionalism Maintain effective communication with office management regarding company values, vision, and protocols Maintain thorough knowledge of clinical department SOPs, policies, and clinical treatments Assist physicians with medical, cosmetic, allergy, and laser procedures Prep and clean exam rooms for procedures and visits Assist Office Management with day-to-day clinical operations, supervision, and evaluation of duties Ensure Medical Assistants/LPNs follow company policies, protocols, and opening/closing checklists Scan consumables and retail products daily and place orders as needed Conduct weekly medical supply inventory counts and place bi-weekly or emergency orders Maintain medical equipment and control costs, waste, and supply availability Assist providers with recording treatments, medications, lab requisitions, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions, prior authorizations, consents, and procedures Audit consumable trackers and laser logs weekly Audit specimen logbooks and lab trackers and ensure proper protocol Organize and submit medical forms, consents, EMR notes, and lab results accurately and promptly Execute new protocols and assist with onboarding, training, and continuing education for Medical Support Staff Coordinate refill, prior authorization, and To Do task requests with MAs, LPNs, and MA Floater Supervise or find coverage for shifts during call-outs, emergencies, or PTO; cover emergency shifts as needed Enforce CLIA, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations and report/document incidents Perform other duties as assigned Requirements Previous healthcare experience is required 2–3 years of experience working in a dermatology/medical environment preferred Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems preferred Must be computer savvy and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Excellent patient relation and customer services skills Must be professional, reliable, and dedicated employee Must have strong critical thinking, problem resolution skills and be a great multitasker Open availability to work during weekdays and weekends Availability Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays within operating hours of 7am–7pm Must exude a strong understanding of and enforce CLIA, OSHA and HIPAA regulations Ability to cross-train to assist in covering the front desk during emergencies Core Competencies Demonstrates strong administrative support capabilities in a healthcare setting, with expertise in EMR software, patient scheduling, and compliance with CLIA, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations.
