Field Service Engineer

Nikon Precision Inc. (NPI) is a leading supplier of semiconductor production and inspection equipment. Our state-of-the-art photolithography equipment is used to image submicron geometries onto various substrates for the manufacture of integrated circuits, LCD panels, and other applications. Position Type: Full Time Regular FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, eligible for overtime Salary Range: Posted salary range is entry level, actual compensation depends on experience Relocation Bonus: Relocation lump-sum bonus may be approved depending on relocation distance Schedule: Monday – Friday or compressed shift; subject to change Environment: Cleanroom Environment (more than 50% of the time) Travel: Domestic and International Travel may be Required ( Position Overview Field Service Engineers (FSE) provide onsite customer service and support at our customer facilities. Job responsibilities include equipment installations, upgrades, repairs, and preventative maintenance of complex lithography tools. Our FSEs work with the customer to ensure optimal performance of the Nikon equipment. Responsibilities Performing all routine troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on Nikon equipment including interpreting schematics, mechanical diagrams, and discerning data from diagnostic programs Providing on-site service for the customer as detailed in service agreement May install or relocate customer equipment and perform associated start-up and check-out procedures Reporting and communicating technical issues and providing feedback on technical documentation Qualifications Advanced understanding of Electronics, typically Associates or Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and/or relevant experience such as Military Knowledge/experience in Optics and Pneumatics Practical “hands-on” ability Self-motivated to learn on the job Proficient in the use of common electronic diagnostic equipment (i.e., oscilloscope, digital voltmeter, etc.) Self-starter demonstrating technical competence of electrical, mechanical, and optical systems or subsystems Excellent verbal and written communications skills to work effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and customers Proficient in Microsoft Office suite Previous experience with Nikon systems is strongly preferred Good understanding of Photolithography and Semiconductor processing an advantage Japanese language proficiency is a bonus Compensation and Benefits NPI is committed to providing a competitive total rewards package, including but not limited to: Competitive compensation, including: Base pay Annual cash bonus Built-in overtime (if applicable) Work/Life balance, including compressed shift with long (3-day and 4-day) weekends without the use of Paid Time Off (if applicable) 401K retirement plan with employer contribution (no employee matching required!)
