About Slurp Ramen

Slurp Ramen brings authentic, Osaka-inspired ramen to Long Island. Since 2016, we've shared the flavors and hospitality of Japan through every bowl. We're looking for a Line Cook who takes pride in great food and wants to grow with our team.

What You'll Do

• Under the supervision of the Kitchen Managers, maintain thorough knowledge of all kitchen stations to prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides.
• Handle daily washing, peeling, and chopping of produce and preparation of ingredients for cooking.
• Maintain the quality and consistency of all menu items — food specifications, recipes, dish presentation, and quality.
• Maintain complete knowledge of menu descriptions, ingredients, allergens, and preparation methods for all menu items.
• Run orders to customers and answer questions about menu items and ingredients as needed, in a positive, upbeat manner.
• Maintain organization, sanitation, and safety of the kitchen area in accordance with Department of Health standards and safety procedures.
• Inform the manager on duty immediately of any DOH or OSHA / workplace safety violations.
• Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with colleagues; act as a team player, follow management's direction, and support others when needed.
• Seek opportunities to learn and improve your skill set, and contribute ideas to support the overall improvement and growth of Slurp Ramen.
• Complete other duties as assigned by management.

What We're Looking For

• Prior kitchen or prep experience preferred; genuine interest in food and a willingness to learn is a must.
• Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistency under a busy service.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, food safety, and organization.
• A positive, team-first attitude and clear communication.
• Reliable and punctual, with flexible availability including weekends.
• NYC/NY Food Handler or DOH food safety certification a plus (or willingness to obtain).

Physical Requirements

• Able to stand and move for extended periods during a shift.
• Comfortable working in a hot kitchen environment around broth and kitchen equipment.
• Able to lift and carry up to ~[25–50] lbs as needed.
