Role: Business Data Analyst

Duration: 6 Months (Possible Extension/Conversion)

Location: Remote 100% Local to Mclean VA/Reston VA

Manager Notes:

• Managing data management team
• Supporting Multifamily reporting initiatives such as Data Quality, Data governance and Data stewardship
• Also Managing releases and production activities as well in multifamily
• Team Size - 8 members (4 in based in Mclean and 4 in Reston, VA)
• Data Analyst will be supporting multifamily reporting which includes Data governance, Data Quality and Data Stewardship
• These assets providing reporting support to multifamily department
• Experience in Data quality, Data Governance and Data Stewardship would be a plus
• Will be finding issues and removing the errors in existing data during data analysis
• Ideal consultant should have at least 3-5 years of related work experience
• Understanding of the business requirements
• Experience in documentation
• Should have exposure in Data Analysis
• Hands on experience with SQL Query
• Experience with Excel

Description Business Analyst II gathers, documents, and most importantly, analyzes application requirements, conducts application analysis, participates in functional application design, creates and analyzes ad-hoc reports and aids in the escalation/resolution of project risks and issues. Responsibilities: - Understand business context and problems and communicates them clearly in written and oral format. - Work with the business users to understand & document the functionality requirements. - Understand existing architecture and data flows. - Perform data analysis - Provide detailed business and data requirements including complex data mappings - Answer questions and scenarios that may come up as the developers and testers work off the business requirements. - Create process flows, presentations and reports to document recommendations and deliver them to the business stakeholders. - Performs detailed analysis of complex business processes, data requirements and proposes solutions.- Work with the team to develop detailed scope, requirements and other SDLC documents as required- Develop test plans, test cases, procedures, and documents given business requirements and design documents.

Must Have Skills: 3+ years of experience in documenting business and data requirements for systems development projects. 3+ years of experience in a consulting environment with a focus on business and data analysis. Prior experience in MS-Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access), Visio Strong SQL, analytical and problem-solving skills. Understand business context, problems and communicates them clearly in written and oral format. Work with the business users and leads to understand & document data requirements Understands basic relational databases as well as user interface design. Experience working on large data Integration projects Exceptional organizational skills, analytical skills, strong written and verbal presentation skills Excellent written and oral communication skills; be able to convert the business requirements into clear and detailed functional requirements for the development team to code; be able to coordinate meetings with other teams effectively Experience with documenting business requirements and testing results. Take a proactive approach to understand the functionality of DQ asset with minimal guidance from business users and technology leads.
