Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk Job Description

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk supports a short-term project by inspecting, reworking, and assembling product packages in a warehouse environment. This role focuses on assembling kits, correcting packaging or assembly issues, and preparing products for accurate and timely distribution while meeting defined quality and productivity standards.

• Inspect incoming and existing packages for defects, inaccuracies, or missing components.
• Rework and correct packaging issues to ensure all products meet established quality standards.
• Assemble kits according to written instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Prepare products and kits for distribution, ensuring accurate labeling and packaging.
• Verify package contents and completeness before finalizing each order.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift.
• Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures at all times.
• Meet or exceed daily productivity and quality expectations.
• Work effectively in an assembly line setting and coordinate tasks with team members.
• Support inventory-related tasks such as counting and tracking items as needed.
• Perform repetitive tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Work the assigned overnight schedule and be available for some Saturday shifts as required.

• Previous experience working in a warehouse, distribution center, or production environment.
• Warehouse and general labor experience, including handling packaging materials.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify package defects, missing components, and assembly issues.
• Ability to ensure all packages are corrected and completed accurately.
• Ability to stand for extended periods during the shift.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining consistency and quality.
• Ability to work overnight hours on a 3rd shift schedule.
• Ability to work some Saturdays as part of the project schedule.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience with assembly and kitting tasks or willingness to learn these skills through training.
• Familiarity with kitting, inventory, and packing processes in a warehouse or production setting.
• Comfort working in a team-oriented environment and on an assembly line.
• Reliability and punctuality in adhering to scheduled shifts.
• Openness to a short-term project assignment with potential for extension or permanent opportunities.

The role provides a straightforward set of responsibilities, allowing you to quickly contribute and see the results of your efforts. This short-term project offers the opportunity to gain additional warehouse and production experience, build practical skills in assembly and kitting, and potentially be considered for longer-term opportunities.

This position is based in a warehouse and distribution environment with an assembly line setup. You will spend most of the shift standing, inspecting packages, assembling kits, and performing package rework in a fast-paced setting. The schedule follows a 3rd shift, typically 8:30 PM to 7:30 AM Monday through Thursday, with four workdays per week and some Saturdays required. The work involves handling packaging materials and inventory items in a production-style setting, following established safety and operational procedures throughout the overnight shift.

This is a Contract position based out of Perth Amboy, NJ.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Perth Amboy,NJ.
