Job Description What is a Salesperson? An entry‑level sales position capable of supporting the DIY business and achieving our sales and service objectives. The role requires knowledge of store systems, basic automotive systems, and basic part knowledge, as well as the ability to source from stores, hubs, pdq, and external suppliers. In‑depth knowledge of store inventory and maintenance processes is required. Positions may be part‑time or full‑time. Fleet safety certification is preferred. Primary Responsibilities Provide an excellent selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls. Achieve individual sales goals and assist the store in meeting its sales objectives. Deliver DIY services including battery installation, testing, wiper installs, and more. Maintain store product and operational standards. Manage inventory processes such as truck put‑away, shoot‑outs, cycle counts, back stock handling, etc. Secondary Responsibilities Maintain store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot. Perform general stocking duties such as truck stocking and back stock organization. Safely deliver parts to customers as needed. Success Factors Basic driving and navigation ability. Proficiency with a delivery board system. Friendly communication skills. Ability to locate and stock parts efficiently. Sound safety knowledge and practical skills. Experience operating inventory systems and store equipment. Knowledge of parts and automotive systems. Competence with POS and parts lookup systems. Expertise in testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY services. Essential Job Skills Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management. Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals. Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Work an assorted schedule of days, evenings, and weekends as needed. Prior Experience 2–3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment, providing superior customer experiences. What is a Store Driver? Physical Demands The role requires predominantly walking or standing, the ability to talk and hear, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment Work is usually performed indoors; occasional outdoor work exposed to weather conditions while installing batteries and wiper blades. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration may occur. Noise level is usually moderate.
