Heavy Equipment Technician/Mechanic

Service TechnicianWe are seeking a skilled Service Technician to perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of heavy construction and specialty equipment. This position is primarily shop-based, with occasional field service as needed. The ideal candidate brings strong troubleshooting abilities, particularly in hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and powertrain diagnostics, and is comfortable working on complex equipment in a fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAssemble and disassemble major components on heavy construction and specialty equipment, including hydraulic cylinders, hoses, pumps, motors, valves, and controlsDiagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, including CAN-bus and electronic controlsPerform repairs and preventive maintenance on heavy equipment within established timelinesService diesel engines, powertrains, undercarriage components, transmissions, torque converters, final drives, braking systems, and structural componentsMachine and fabricate steel components using hand tools and power-driven equipmentAssemble and disassemble equipment for inspections, repairs, rebuilds, and maintenanceComplete detailed service reports, parts lookups, and parts order requisitionsPerform check-in / check-out inspections and quality control documentation on rental and fleet equipmentOperate forklifts, overhead cranes, power tools, welding and cutting equipment, and hydraulic torque toolsOperate heavy construction equipment safely, including in confined or tight work areasPerform repairs and maintenance at jobsite locations when requiredPreferred Experience & QualificationsExperience working on heavy construction equipment such as earthmoving, foundation, utility, crane, mining, or specialty equipmentStrong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systemsExperience with electronic controls, CAN-bus systems, and diagnostic software is highly desirableSolid understanding of diesel engines and powertrain systemsAbility to interpret service manuals, schematics, and wiring diagramsStrong safety awareness and attention to detailAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a shop environmentWhat We OfferPrimarily shop-based role with limited field workOpportunity to work on complex, specialized heavy equipmentCompetitive compensation based on experienceExcellent Benefits package
