Job Overview The Department of Geosciences, College of Earth and Mineral Sciences, is looking for a qualified candidate to serve as a Research Assistant to study pyrolysis of chemicals with respect to carbon isotopic fractionation. The work involves instrumentation and gas handling, working with gas mixtures, weighing samples, collecting gases and delivering them to a mass spectrometer, and developing and testing hypotheses. Responsibilities Conduct research on the pyrolysis of chemicals and carbon isotopic fractionation. Operate instrumentation and handle gases. Work with gas mixtures. Weigh samples. Collect gases and deliver them to a mass spectrometer. Develop and test hypotheses. Work up to 20 hours a week. Location Located in the Deike Building.
