Job Description
The CDL Driver will primarily operate local routes during day shifts, driving solo to ensure timely and safe delivery of cargo. This role involves comprehensive vehicle inspections, adherence to safety and traffic laws, and maintaining accurate logbooks. The driver will also manage customer interactions and perform basic vehicle maintenance to support efficient route completion. The majority of the work for hauling and delivering aggregate material. Some possible asphalt hauling.
Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles on local routes independently during day shifts
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after routes
- Handle cargo loading and unloading safely and efficiently
- Comply with all safety regulations and traffic laws
- Maintain accurate logbooks and route records
- Interact professionally with customers during deliveries
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance and report issues promptly
- Plan routes using effective navigation and time management skills
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of commercial driving experience
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of vehicle operation and safety compliance
- Experience with route planning and time management
- Effective communication and customer service skills
- Basic vehicle maintenance abilities
- Understanding of logistics coordination
- Driver must be familiar with driving a 13 speed manual transmission.
