Austin Design Cooperative a worker-owned architecture firm based in Brattleboro, Vermont, is seeking a licensed Architect (NCARB) to join our growing team. Our team is comprised of highly empathetic listeners, thinkers, and doers, and our work is guided by our motto: architecture for enjoying life. Our work ranges from affordable multifamily, commercial, and community-focused projects to custom homes, across Western Massachusetts, Vermont, and occasionally further afield. The ideal candidate is passionate about sustainable, community-engaged design; enjoys working in a cooperative studio environment; and brings both strong technical skills and a clear design voice. What you’ll do Design and document multifamily, community, commercial and residential projects Acquire projects, write proposals Develop drawings and details in Vectorworks from concept through construction (existing conditions, design, code review, project specifications and project manual, bidding assistance, construction administration, project closeout) Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and clients Contribute to studio design discussions and project reviews Help strengthen a practice centered on sustainability, equity, and craft Maintain required state and national memberships and licensure needed to stamp drawings Complete CEUs on time as required by each state(s) Qualifications Licensed Architect with NCARB record (or ability to obtain reciprocity in VT/MA) Proficiency in: Vectorworks for design and drafting Sketchup (or ability to learn quickly) Adobe Microsoft Office Strong understanding of construction detailing and building documentation Clear written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently Commitment to sustainable design, cooperative values, and collaborative practice Experience: 10–15 years preferred What we offer Full-time, in-office position in Brattleboro, Vermont Competitive salary and benefits, commensurate with experience A collaborative, design-focused studio working on meaningful projects After one year, there is potential to become a member-owner in our worker cooperative and participate in shared governance and profit-sharing. #J-18808-Ljbffr
