Test Engineering Manager

OverviewAs a Test Engineering Manager, you will work with our growing DevSecOps practice as a team lead delivering quality assurance services to support application, cloud and data systems development. We are looking for candidates with experience with responsibility for leading a team of quality assurance and test automation professionals to drive projects in an Agile/DevSecOps environment.ContributionsResponsibilities include:Serve as the technical delivery leader, accountable for completion of team delivery efforts including quality oversight and client acceptanceFoster and promote innovative thinking across the client environmentBuild and maintain client relationships, developing a strategic vision for clients and internal teamsHandle challenging client situations and offer technical and business guidance and direction to client executivesManage staff and monitor performance and training needs to create skills expansion and career advancement opportunityUnderstand the needs of stakeholders and convey this to developersMeet with product design team to determine testing parametersWrite test plans, create test cases, test procedures, bug reports, final QA reports for productsManage test data architecture definition and requestsTroubleshoot errors and streamline the test proceduresTest and examine code written by others and analyze results, including three or more of the following:Data validation testingFunctional testingPerformance and load testingUsability testingAccessibility (508) testingEstablish automated testing tools and infrastructure for test automationProvide validation testing of different system and data sets for cloud migrationsDevelop automated testing scripts considering parallelization and idempotencyAutomate and improve development, testing, deployment, and release processesEnsure that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threatsWork with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intendedDocument as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendationsLeverage virtualization and containerization to optimize testing software systemsWork with teams to bring continuous improvement to DevSecOps processes and toolsEngineer and implement solutions and provide recommendations for continuous improvement for the services providedPresent regular status updates and provide cross training to other DevOps team members.Lead and manage team membersAssist in sales and technical strategy activities beyond their current programEngineer and implement solutions and provide recommendations for continuous improvement for the services providedQualificationsRequiredAbility to obtain a U.S. government Security ClearanceBachelor's degree and 10+ years of progressive experience in test engineering, including leadership or management of testing teams and quality assurance effortsProven experience of leading the deployment of enterprise and custom software solutions in client environmentsDemonstrated ability to influence and consult while providing thought leadership to sponsors/stakeholders in solving governance, program/project management, business process and/or technical problemsProven experience growing and selling while delivering5 Years of Experience with Git SCM providers such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket5 Years of Experience with one or more programming or scripting languages5 Years of application DevSecOps Experience with actual/active development experience in an Agile environmentExperience utilizing docker containers and utilizing platforms such as Kubernetes5 Years of Experience implementing test automation, using tools such as Selenium, Appium, Soap UI, RestAssured, Postman3 Years of Experience integrating test automation including performance, security, and functional tests into CI/CD Pipelines3 Years of Experience with performance and load testingExcellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skillsExperience with documenting an as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendationsMust possess active ISTQB and Project Management Professional (PMP) certificationsMust possess an active USDA suitability determinationAbout steampunkSteampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $110,000 to $150,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
