Registered Nurse (RN) - OR General Surgery

Role: Clinical Nurse Educator responsible for providing high-quality patient-centered care, coordinating with interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring safe, effective clinical practices. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive assessments and re-assessments, considering psychosocial, physical, educational, and cultural aspects. Collaborate with surgical teams to develop and evaluate individualized care plans. Administer medications accurately, following safety protocols and age-specific guidelines. Ensure patient safety through proper documentation, aseptic techniques, and communication. Function flexibly under stress, utilizing critical thinking, sound judgment, and delegation skills. Provide age-appropriate care, interpret patient data, and deliver accurate patient reports. Prepare surgical environments, maintain aseptic techniques, and communicate effectively with surgical teams, including managing specimen handling and instrument counts. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an active RN license in Connecticut. Certification in CPR required. Previous experience in surgical or labor and delivery settings, especially assisting with C-sections.
