Staff Accountant - St. Pete, FL

Staff Accountant (Hybrid)
St. Petersburg, FL | $68,000 - $80,000 (DOE) | Hybrid Schedule
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant with strong accounting fundamentals and hands-on Accounts Receivable experience. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys both financial accounting responsibilities and the operational side of AR, including billing, cash applications, collections, and account reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform monthly close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Prepare and analyze month-end financial reports and supporting schedules
- Manage customer billing and invoicing processes
- Process and apply daily cash receipts accurately and timely
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and perform collections activities
- Review customer credit applications and maintain credit records
- Assist with fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, and transaction coding
- Analyze financial data, investigate variances, and support special projects
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies
- Support additional accounting and finance functions as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (required)
- 4-7 years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and month-end close processes
- Hands-on Accounts Receivable experience, including:
- Billing
- Cash Applications
- Collections
- Credit & Customer Account Management
- Experience with account reconciliations and journal entries
- Strong Excel skills
- Experience with SAP is a plus, but not required
- CPA or CMA pursuit is a plus

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $68,000 - $80,000 annually, depending on experience
