Flare Construction Skilled LaborerFlare Construction, LLCJob SummaryAt Flare Construction, the Skilled Laborer performs a variety of field construction and maintenance tasks under the supervision of higher-level employees. Work involves assisting crews with general labor, equipment operation, jobsite preparation, and supporting extra workload, absences, and vacations, as well as unusual changes in the production area or weather conditions. The position is primarily outdoors and requires clothing appropriate for changing seasons and weather conditions. Traveling out of town to work on remote job sites may be required as directed by management. Skilled Laborers are classified into three levels—Skilled Laborer I, II, and III—based on experience, skill proficiency, and ability to work independently.Key ResponsibilitiesSkilled Laborer I – Entry LevelPerforms general labor and support tasks under close supervision.Cleans and lubricates equipment as directed, maintains the work area free from debris, and readies or puts away tools as assigned.Closely follows directions; holds or supplies materials and tools.Performs any unskilled job on the project.Operates basic hand and power tools safely as trained.Participates in daily safety briefings/meetings and follows all safety procedures and guidelines.Reports any issues, hazards, or incidents to the supervisor or higher-level employee immediately.Is present at the beginning of the assigned shift and at the job site location as scheduled.Assists with extra workload, covering absences, and supporting crews as needed.Successfully completes basic operator and/or task qualifications as identified by the supervisor.May be required to work some weekends and nights, when needed.Travel out of town during the week and/or weekends to remote job sites when required.Performs other related duties as assigned.Skilled Laborer II – Intermediate LevelPerforms all duties of Skilled Laborer I with increased independence and skill.Performs any unskilled job on the project and may assist with minor skilled work as directed.Assists with minor equipment operation, maintenance, and material handling.Cleans and lubricates equipment, maintains work areas free from debris, and readies/puts away tools as assigned.Operates a wide variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.Motions equipment operators and assists with alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials.Participates in daily safety briefings/meetings and consistently follows safety guidelines, demonstrating safe work practices.Reports any issues or concerns to the supervisor or higher-level employee promptly.Successfully completes basic operator and/or task qualifications as identified by the supervisor.Responds to changing jobsite needs related to workload, weather, or scheduling and support the crew accordingly.Demonstrates safe work practices and may provide informal guidance to Skilled Laborer I employees.May be required to work some weekends and nights, when needed.Travel out of town during the week and weekends to remote job sites as required.Performs other related duties as assigned.Required Skills and CompetenciesAll Levels (I, II, III)Good verbal and written communication skills.Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions.Ability to work in a variety of roles on the crew and adapt to changing needs.Ability to work effectively with a variety of personalities and in a team environment.Strong commitment to safety and participation in all required safety training and meetings.Must be 18 years of age.What You'll GetWhy Join Flare Construction?Established in 1976, Flare Construction, LLC, a Quanta Services Company, is a full-service contractor delivering civil, industrial, and energy construction services across 12 western states.
