Pediatric Hospitalist-Newborn Nursery

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking an experienced full-time Pediatrician to take on a leadership role in a new 10-bed LDRP Level-I Nursery at CaroMont Regional Medical Center-Belmont, opening in early 2025. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a growing community just outside Charlotte, North Carolina. The role involves daily rounds on newborns, attending deliveries, and managing/transporting newborns needing higher-level care, supported by a team of NNPs and close collaboration with a Level III NICU. Practice Info Brand new, 10-bed LDRP Level-I Nursery at CaroMont Regional Medical Center-Belmont, scheduled to open beginning of 2025. Anticipated 600 deliveries a year. Average daily census of about 5 newborns. The Belmont team will consist of 4 NNPs/Pediatric Hospitalist. Sister LEVEL III NICU staffed by 2 neonatologists and 5-6 NNPs at CaroMont Regional Medical Center-Gastonia, 7 miles away. Responsibilities Play a leadership role in a brand new, 10 bed LDRP Level-I Nursery. Daily rounds on newborns. Attending deliveries when requested. Take call from home. Stabilize, manage and facilitate transport of newborns to adjacent NICUs in Charlotte or Gastonia for newborns needing higher level care. Compensation Competitive compensation package.
