Oracle Technical Lead (OIC, ORDS, VBCS)

We specialize in on-premises to cloud migrations, configurations, customizations, and integrations of Oracle Cloud for medium to large enterprises in the life sciences, semiconductor, and high-tech manufacturing industries.

The organization is seeking a highly experienced Oracle Technical Lead with a deep background in Oracle integrations, database services, and modern application development. In this role, the Technical Lead will guide the technical architecture, design, and delivery of complex enterprise solutions. The successful candidate will serve as the primary authority on integrating Oracle and third-party systems using Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), exposing secure database APIs via Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS), and designing user interfaces using Visual Builder Cloud Service (VBCS). The Technical Lead will bridge the gap between business requirements and technical execution, mentoring junior developers, enforcing best practices, and ensuring scalable, high-performing architectures.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership & Architecture

• Lead the end-to-end technical design, development, and deployment of Oracle-centric integration and application solutions.
• Define integration strategies and architectural patterns for connecting Oracle Cloud Applications (ERP, SCM, HCM) with on-premise and third-party SaaS systems.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and mentor a team of offshore/onshore technical developers.
• Collaborate with functional leads, enterprise architects, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into robust technical specifications.

Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) Development

• Design and build complex integrations using OIC (App-Driven, Scheduled Orchestrations, File-Based, and B2B).
• Develop robust error handling, notification, and retry mechanisms within OIC flows
• Manage connections, lookups, packages, and certificates within the OIC environment.

Database Services (ORDS & PL/SQL)

• Design, develop, and secure RESTful web services using Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS) to expose Oracle Database assets to modern web and mobile applications.
• Write advanced PL/SQL code (procedures, functions, packages, triggers) to support data migration, complex business logic, and backend processing.
• Optimize complex SQL queries and database performance to ensure efficient data retrieval for APIs.

Visual Builder Cloud Service (VBCS) Application Development

• Leverage working proficiency in VBCS to build, modify, and support responsive web and mobile applications.
• Connect VBCS UI components securely to underlying ORDS APIs and OIC integration endpoints.
• Troubleshoot UI issues and assist in the rapid prototyping of custom extensions for Oracle Cloud applications.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Experience: 10+ years of overall IT experience in Oracle technologies, with at least 3-5 years in a Technical Lead or Architectural capacity.
• OIC Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience designing and delivering integrations using Oracle Integration Cloud. Strong understanding of standard adapters (Oracle ERP/HCM/CX, REST, SOAP, FTP, Database, etc.).
• ORDS & Database: Deep expertise in Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS), Oracle Database architectures, and advanced PL/SQL. Proven ability to create secure, scalable REST APIs.
• VBCS Proficiency: Working knowledge of Oracle Visual Builder Cloud Service (VBCS) for creating UI extensions. Understanding of JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 is highly preferred.
• Web Services: Strong foundational knowledge of API design, REST/SOAP protocols, JSON, XML, OAuth, and basic web security standards.
• Methodology: Experience operating within Agile/Scrum delivery models and using CI/CD pipelines and version control tools (e.g., Git, Bitbucket).
• Communication: Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical trade-offs to non-technical business leaders.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have):

• SCM Functional Exposure: Functional understanding of Oracle Cloud Supply Chain Management (SCM) modules (e.g., Inventory, Order Management, Manufacturing, or Procurement) to effectively align technical designs with business processes.
• Active Oracle Certifications in OIC (e.g., Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Integration Professional) or Autonomous Database.
• Familiarity with Oracle APEX (Application Express) as an alternative rapid application development tool.
• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) core services (Identity and Access Management, Networking, Object Storage).
