Description:
The Speech-Language Pathologist provides evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment services for individuals with speech, language, voice, fluency, and communication disorders.
The SLP collaborates with educators, families, administrators, and related service providers to support individuals' academic achievement, communication development, and overall educational success.
Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations and assessments.
Interpret assessment results and prepare written evaluation reports.
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and objectives related to speech and language services.
Provide direct and indirect speech-language therapy services in individual and group settings.
Monitor progress and maintain appropriate documentation of services provided.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, IEP meetings, eligibility conferences, and conferences with families.
Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, school psychologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and administrators to support individual needs.
Develop and implement intervention strategies to address communication challenges impacting educational performance.
Provide consultation and training to educational personnel and families regarding communication disorders and intervention techniques.
Utilize evidence-based practices and instructional methods.
Maintain confidential records and comply with district, state, and federal regulations.
Support compliance with applicable educational requirements.
Perform additional duties as assigned by administration.
Strong knowledge of speech and language disorders, evaluations, and therapeutic interventions is required.
Knowledge of special education laws and IEP development is essential.
Assess, analyze, and develop individualized treatment plans effectively.
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary educational teams.
Demonstrate strong organizational and time-management skills.
Maintain accurate and confidential documentation.
Proficiency with educational technology, therapy platforms, and documentation systems is necessary.
Ability to provide therapy services in classroom, resource, and therapy settings.
Ability to move throughout assigned locations.
Ability to lift, carry, or position instructional and therapy materials as necessary.
