Position: Anesthesia Technician – Surgical Services $$SN$$
Location: Lexington, Kentucky
Shift: Evenings – 5x8s (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM) with weekend call coverage
Duration: September 7, 2026 – January 9, 2027 (18 weeks)

Job Duties

• Support anesthesia services for surgical patients across all age groups, from neonates to geriatrics, in an inpatient operating room setting.
• Prepare anesthesia machines, carts, and equipment for upcoming procedures.
• Assess patient-specific needs preoperatively, including allergies, resistant organisms, and age-related considerations, and communicate findings to the surgical team.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and resolve mechanical issues with anesthesia equipment.
• Coordinate equipment and supply needs with Sterile Processing Department (SPD).
• Assist with efficient operating room turnover by cleaning, resetting, and preparing anesthesia equipment for the next patient.
• Maintain inventory levels of disposable supplies and ensure OR supply carts are stocked.
• Remove used equipment and supplies while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
• Participate in anesthesia-related training and serve as a preceptor for new staff when needed.
• Complete required education and compliance modules within designated timelines.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required.
• Less than 1 year of experience accepted.
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with surgical services teams.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage equipment, supplies, and patient care needs in a fast-paced OR environment.
