Responsibilities

Draw blood samples from patients, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures to ensure safety and accuracy.

Prepare and label lab specimens properly, verifying patient demographic information and obtaining patient signatures post-venipuncture.

Maintain accurate records and documentation of all specimen collection activities.

Create a trusting environment by clearly explaining procedures to patients and demonstrating sensitivity to their needs.

Travel between multiple patient service centers and in-office phlebotomy locations, often with minimal notice, to meet staffing and patient care needs.

Ensure a safe, professional, and clean environment during all specimen collection procedures.

Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety, confidentiality, and organizational standards of excellence.

Required Skills

Strong phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Excellent communication and customer service abilities to create a positive patient experience.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a high-volume environment.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.

Proficient data entry and record-keeping skills.

Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Additional Skills & Requirements

1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, with preference for experience in a Patient Service Center or clinical setting.

Medical assistant or paramedic training and certification preferred; phlebotomy certification preferred.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Must be able to travel between multiple sites and submit mileage for expense reimbursement.

Dependability in arriving on time for scheduled shifts and staying for the entire shift is essential.
