ER RN

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room (ER) is a highly skilled healthcare professional responsible for delivering immediate and effective care to patients with life-threatening injuries or illnesses. This role requires expertise in emergency medicine, critical care, and trauma care to assess, stabilize, and treat patients rapidly in a high-stress environment. The ER Nurse works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members, providing not only clinical care but also emotional support to patients and their families. The position includes working two nights in the ER and one night in Medical/Surgical (MS) per week. Responsibilities:

• Provide immediate assessment, stabilization, and treatment of emergency patients.
• Deliver skilled nursing care in both Emergency Department and Medical/Surgical settings.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes promptly.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and interventions.
• Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families during critical situations.
• Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, preferably in Emergency Department and Medical/Surgical units.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certifications.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.

• Experience in trauma care and critical care nursing.
• Previous experience working in both Emergency Department and Medical/Surgical units.
• Additional certifications related to emergency nursing or critical care.

• Work includes mandatory shifts: 3 nights per week (7pm-7am), specifically 2 nights in Emergency Department and 1 night in Medical/Surgical unit.
• Must be able to remain calm and make quick decisions under pressure.
• Role requires physical stamina to manage fast-paced and demanding clinical environment.
• Emotional resilience and ability to provide compassionate care to patients and families in crisis.

• Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, three nights per week.
• Schedule includes two nights in the Emergency Department and one night in the Medical/Surgical unit weekly.
• Shift pattern is fixed and non-negotiable.
